Jeffrey C. Whitsett, M.D., founded the Whitsett Vision Group almost two decades ago. Today the practice has grown to include Cybele C. Woon M.D. and David C. Fu O.D. As the Whitsett Vision Group has evolved, Dr. Whitsett has garnered a reputation in Houston and in the U.S. as a state-of-the-art eye surgeon. When national companies and the FDA patient trials - and was hand-selected by the FDA to perform patient trials for LASIK and ReSTOR.

Jeffrey C. Whitsett, M.D., is a nationally-renown doctor specializing in refractive, cataract and glaucoma surgery. He lectures across the country to fellow ophthalmologists about the newest, most innovative advances in cataract and refractive surgery.

Dr. Whitsett received his Doctor of Medicine Degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1986 and then moved to Phoenix, Arizona to complete his internship at Good Samaritan Medical Center. After completing his residency at the Dean A. McGee Eye Institute in 1990, he accepted a fellowship in glaucoma at the University of Texas-Houston in affiliation with Houston Eye Associates.

A certified physician with the American Board of Ophthalmology, Dr. Whitsett is also a member of the International Society of Refractive Surgery and American Society of cataract and Refractive Surgeons. He has served on the Practicing Ophthalmologists Advisory Committee on Education of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

His wife, Mary Ann, is a physician specializing in Occupational Medicine. They have four children - Cory, Christin, Mary Claire, and Catherine. Dr. Whitsett is becoming well-known as the father of Cory, the golf prodigy who was one of the youngest to ever win the National Junior Amateur (also won by Tiger Woods as a youth).

Dr. Whitsett enjoys golf, too, and basketball (he received a basketball scholarship in college). However, the majority of his free time he tries to keep up with his parental duties
